I Need You 03:48
I met you in a village cafe you had a bowler hat and a polka-dot shirt I was fumbling with a stubborn song you flashed your dazzling smile they say happiness ain't sustainable but I think you and I can prove them wrong I got kitschy art dreams come and dream them with me I need you honey you're one of the loves, of one of my lives I've got a serious coat, but I'm a fool I could hobnob with the best of them come and hobnob with me we kissed on the platform beneath broken lights with blood on the walls, a bum on the side and i ain't one to romanticize it's a found memory I need you honey walking the bridge, stuck in the middle a million degrees, you had a bad temper said you wanted to leave, I said, "no, honey, please don't go..." I need you honey

I saw you outside the restaurant you were acting very nonchalant I said, "I am here all alone." You said, "I'm not from the town you are from." But I can see you on my arm you lowered your eyes to the ground I said "I could show you around" you said, "I'm not from this town." What was I to do? I gave myself away You were in a foul mood but it was the day for me you had an owl stare, raven hair and it was the day for me I saw you outside of the restaurant you were acting very nonchalant I said, "I am here all alone." You said, "I'm not from the town you are from." But I can see you on my arm you lowered your eyes to the ground I said "I could show you around" you said, "I'm not from this town."

Lyrics and Melody by Imran Ahmed It's not one lie, if I were born one hundred times I would fall in love with you each and every life and when we kiss, beneath bed sheets I'm dancing on the edge of a faint and when I spend my day with you, it's what I want to do and when I spend my night with you, it's what I want to do at the ridiculous parties, your hair wound carelessly all the pretty people chit-chat, I taste your apricot shoulder-blades and at our Sunday match, racket twirling in your hands with focus you toss the flannel-fluffed tennis ball and when I spend my day with you, it's what I want to do and when I spend my night with you, it's what I want to do the brass trumpets search for love in the crowded alleys, between Brooklyn streets but me, I spend my day with you, it's what I want to do and when I spend my night with you, it's what I want to do you know me

about

A four-song EP as a prelude to the full length album, "Life at the Zoo." The full length album takes inspiration from Alain de Botton's novel, "On Love," in that it traces a relationship from first meeting until disintegration. The album musically traces each phase of the relationship.
